My boy has been around video games his entire life. When he was days old, he was laying on my lap between naps watching me game. Unfortunately, now that he’s in his “I’m going to grab everything, no matter how sharp, hot, deadly, heavy, or expensive it is!” phase, he longs for the controller that’s firmly planted in my hand.
That’s where this controller comes in. It’s roughly the size of an XBox controller (and white, like the controller that comes with the XBox One S), so he can feel like dad. It even sits correctly on my controller stand (he’s now got his own stand for his controller). He likes smacking it around. It’s got two shoulder buttons that click and rock. It’s got the “D-Pad” and the face buttons, along with a joystick. Each button makes different noises. My only gripe is that the main song doesn’t rhyme! “1, 2, 3, 4, up goes your score, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, you’re great!” - like…just stop at eight if you’re going to make the first part rhyme.
Overall this is a really great toy if your kid has been born into a gamer family, like mine. Kids aren’t stupid, so they’ll know it’s not your controller, but they’ll be entertained enough to stop caring just for a bit.
